Double Decker Auto Repair was born in the heart of Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with one simple belief: your car should be treated like it’s part of the family—because for most people, it practically is.

Our story at this very location goes all the way back to 2002, when Mike Decker first began working here when the shop was still known as Merlin Muffler & Brake. In 2006, Mike and his wife Erin purchased the business and continued operating it as a Merlin franchise. From the very beginning, they built a strong reputation throughout Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie for fair pricing, honest communication, and the kind of personal service you can only get from a true local shop.

Fast forward to 2026, and we’re proud to begin an exciting new chapter as Double Decker Auto Repair—an independent, family-owned business still operated 100% by the Decker family. While the name has changed, our mission has not. For more than two decades, our goal has been simple: keep Kenosha moving by providing high-quality, affordable, and efficient auto repair that genuinely improves our customers’ lives.

So why “Double Decker”? Because we believe the best service always has two layers—expert technical repairs and genuine, down-to-earth care for the people behind the wheel. And with Mike and Erin Decker running the shop, the name was just meant to be.

After more than 20 years in business, we’re still the same neighborhood shop at heart. We believe in honesty, clear explanations in plain English (no unnecessary upsells), and treating every customer with respect and appreciation.
