Our Story: From Merlin Muffler & Brake to Double Decker Auto Repair
Double Decker Auto Repair was born from nearly 25 years of building trust with drivers in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie. Mike Decker first walked through the doors of this shop on 8601 75th Street back in 2002, when it was still known as Merlin Muffler & Brake. He quickly earned a reputation as a technician who treated customers like a friend, not just another oil change.
In 2006, Mike and his wife Erin took the next step, purchasing the business and continuing to operate it as a Merlin franchise. For nearly two decades as a franchise, they built the shop's reputation on fair pricing, honest communication, and the kind of personal service only a true family-owned business can deliver.
In 2026, Mike and Erin made the decision to step fully out from under the franchise umbrella and launch Double Decker Auto Repair, an independent shop that is entirely theirs. The name, the team, the address, and the values are the same. We are looking forward to the next chapter of Double Decker Auto Repair, serving customers in the Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie and surrounding communities with high quality auto repair services.
